October 26, 2020
On Monday, October 26th, the Fort Scott School District was notified that a student at Fort Scott Middle School has tested positive for COVID-19. When we have a positive test for COVID-19 in our school buildings, we will follow the guidance of the county health officer in how we will address the issue. That is what we did in this case. Through contact tracing, we identified which students may have been impacted through close contact with the infected student. This was done under the guidance and direction of the Bourbon County Health Department. Any students and their families who may have been impacted were notified. If a student and/or parent was not notified, it was determined, per the County Health Department guidance that the student was not impacted by this situation and any additional notification is not necessary.
If you have any additional questions, please your child’s building administration.
Respectfully,
Ted Hessong
Superintendent
Fort Scott Schools
