Independent Study Students:
As morning college classes have concluded, you should arrive at 7:45 each morning of your final exams and study in the Commons area until exam time.
No Activity Period? You, too, should report to school at 7:45 to the Commons area until time for your first final exam.
You will leave at the END of the hour you normally leave. For example, if you normally sign out at the end of 4th hour, which is 11:27 a.m., that time may be different on the days of your final exams. Plan accordingly, please.
Club Meetings are being conducted via Zoom, headphones required. These meetings, at the discretion of the sponsor, will be held during Activity Period. Check with your club’s sponsor.
From Mr. Spore, NHS sponsor:
Members of National Honor Society will vote for officers during today’s meeting. The meeting will be held via Zoom during AP this afternoon.
From Mr. Amer, Art Club sponsor:
Art Club will meet tomorrow after school at 3:45 in the art room.

WANT TO BE A FIRE FIGHTER?
The Fort Scott Fire Department is beginning to accept applications for the 2021 Fire Reserve Recruitment class. The FSFD will first consider candidates who hold FF1 Hazmat OPS/ Awareness certifications first.
The FSFD could possibly select the right candidate for recruitment and in house training. That is determined in the testing process. You must be 18 or older to apply.
If interested, please fill out an application online at www.fscity.org. Find the Fire Reserve tab or just fill out a general application and state what position for which you are applying.
Deadline to submit an application is Wednesday, December 30th. After review, letters will be mailed to selected applicants to be tested in mid-January. Again, candidates who possess certifications will be selected first.
The testing process consists of 3 phases:
Written Test / Writing Assessment
The Reserve program is a part-time firefighter position which consists of working when a full-time member takes time off. It is a great program to get prepared for full-time status when the opportunity arises. Hours can be flexible.
If you have any questions please reach out to Mike on the flyer at either of the two numbers listed above.
