Retirement Recognition - Connie Billionis

Superintendent Brown congratulated and thanked Connie Billionis for the work she had provided to USD 234 during her 42 years of service with the district. Mrs. Billionis retired this year.

A little bit about Connie:

The best part of Connie's day at the board office-  "I think the best part of the day was greeting coworkers each morning.  We would talk about our work day, our families, what we had for supper the previous night and, quite often, we would solve the problems of the world!!  Another thing I really enjoyed was helping our staff and students. Assisting coaches with transportation, teachers with  registrations, and the superintendent with state reports. "

Connie's Family-  "I met my husband, Gary, when he was hired to teach physical education at Fort Scott Junior High.  We have been married for 40 years.  We have three sons, Tom, Matt, and Nick.  We have four granddaughters and one grandson. "

What Connie is looking forward to with retirement- "I’m looking forward to spending more time with Gary. and the grandkids. I love to be outside in the flower gardens. I really like not setting the alarm clock at night!"

A fun fact about Connie- "I do NOT like coconut (it’s like shredded soap).  If you are going to feed me biscuits and gravy, just skip the biscuits and give me a big bowl of the gravy.  Pet peeve:  paper clips that are all  strung together. And every day, give me a Sonic Route 44 Diet Coke with regular cherry syrup and easy ice."

Congratulations on your retirement, Connie!
