September Classified Tiger Team Members

Classified Tiger Team Members of the Month are as follows:

 

 Kelley Tucker, Winfield Scott Occupational Therapist Paraprofessional, was recognized by Tonya Barnes. Kelley is assisting with Hannelie Smit, Occupational Therapist. She was thanked for being extremely organized and assisting above expectations with Mrs. Smit.

 Caroline Elton, Flo Tanner, Terra Kegler, Lucretia Ruggero, Jessica Cox, Fort Scott High School Paraprofessionals, were recognized by Tonya Barnes for their outstanding work with the Sensory Bulletin Board. They have provided a sensory space for the students that has proved to be highly effective and helpful. Mrs. Barnes commended each on building connections to help bring more productivity to the students.

 Cynthia Hemphill-Witham and Shanna Staton, Preschool Paraprofessionals, were recognized by Tonya Barnes. As the Preschool needs are growing, they have been willing to take on more responsibilities to help the students. Mr. Johnson, Principal, recommended Cynthia and Shannon for their willingness to go above and beyond every day for the students.

 

The best part about your school day?

Kelley- " I don't have a best part. My schedule is different every day. The best thing is interacting with kids, helping them get stronger and more confident, and watching the progress they make."

Caroline- "The best part of my day is my first class.  It is a functional cooking class with our one-on-one kids.  I really enjoy cooking for them and finding out what they like and what they don’t."

Flo- “The best part of my day is having a breakthrough with students.”

Terra- “Walking down the hallways greeting the students, and being able to assist staff and students when needed.”

Lucretia- “’ My favorite part of my school day is helping students achieve their goals. It's great to be a part of them learning something new that will enrich their lives.”

Jessica- “After lunch because I have three math classes!”

Shanna- "The best part of my school day is when I am able to greet each student as they walk through the door. I enjoy seeing their smiles as they walk into class."

Cynthia- " Best part of my school day is being able to interact with the children at the centers, playing and talking"

 

A bit about your family? -

Kelley- " I am married and have 4 amazing kids. We love to play board games, dice games, & cards."

Caroline- "My husband and I have been married for almost 19 years.  We have two sons, an 18-year-old who graduated last year and a 16-year-old who is a current Junior at FSHS.  We also have an almost 9-year-old daughter who is in 3rd grade at Eugene Ware"

Flo- “I have 3 daughters and 9 grandkids that I love dearly.”

Terra- “My husband, Jason, is the FSCC President. We have 3 children (Raveyn, Senior at FSHS, Dierks, Sophomore at FSHS, and Kyron, 7th grader at FSMS). We are always involved in sporting events, and love spending time together in the gym.”

Lucretia- “My husband and I just got married in June but we met as band students at FSHS many years ago. Our son attends PHS as a sophomore.”

Jessica- “I just had my first baby, Edith who is 5 months old. She has two older (half) brothers, Oliver and Elijah.“

Shanna- "A little about my family, I live just outside of Fort Scott with my husband and son. We love to take trips to Colorado each year."

 Cynthia- "I have 2 step sons Kyle 22, Travin 21. My son Koda 18, graduated last year, recently moved to New York for a job in sound engineering and I have a 13 year old daughter Crysta, we enjoy walking and traveling to see family."

A fun fact about you? -

Kelley- "An interesting fact about me is I have triplet girls."

Caroline- " A fun fact about me is that I grew up on a fruit farm (all kinds of apples, peaches, grapes, and sour cherries) on Lake Ontario in Western New York.  We were about 20 minutes away from Niagara Falls and it was amazing! "

Flo- “A fun fact about me is that I love math!”

Terra- “I played basketball in college.”

Lucretia- “I love to read and try to finish 1 book every week.“

Jessica- “I love brain games!”

Shanna- "A fun fact about me is that I am currently enrolled in Ottawa University working towards getting my Bachelors in Elementary Education. I am looking forward to student teaching in the Fall of 2024."

Cynthia- "I have my CDA Credential, I have worked in ECE for 7 years and plan on furthering my education. "
