1st Grade went to USB to learn more about coins and bills. Stevia, a USB ambassador, has come to school to teach our students and today we got to see her job in action. We got a behind the scenes look at how coins and bills are handled at the bank.

Day 2 of our March Madness: Reading Edition was another exciting one at Winfield Scott!

Today we were thrilled to welcome our Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Johnson, who kept the excitement going by reading The Wild Robot to our first graders! Our students loved listening to the story and are already buzzing with opinions as they prepare to vote.

Now the big question is on everyone’s mind...which book will advance in our bracket challenge? Will it be Bear and the Three Goldilocks or The Wild Robot?

We are so grateful to Dr. Johnson for taking the time to support literacy and share the joy of reading with our students. Stay tuned to see which book moves on to the next round!

We were honored to welcome our Superintendent to Winfield Scott today as he kicked off our March Madness: Reading Edition!

He started the excitement by reading to all of our 1st graders and helping us launch this year’s book bracket challenge. Each week, two books will go head-to-head, and our students will vote to decide which story advances. At the end, the final two books will face off to crown our reading champion!

We can’t wait to see which book takes the title! Thank you, Mr. Brown, for supporting literacy and sharing your love of reading with our students!
